After Over a Decade… T-Rex Comes Down

Located in the Legends at Village West and the first venue of its kind in the world, T-Rex provided a memorable dining experience where the patron experienced all aspects of the prehistoric world including the sights and sounds of fire-spitting volcanoes, shooting meteors, ice caves, tropical jungles, and life-size animatronic dinosaurs such as the Tyrannosaurus Rex himself.   Most impressive was the Argentinosaurus, the largest land dinosaur ever discovered to walk the face of the earth, which stood guard over the main entrance to T-Rex Restaurant. One of only three full-scale replicas in the world, this example of the Argentinosaurus was the only one that was in an exterior setting with internal structural supports to withstand environmental loads such as wind, snow and ice.   Children could hunt for bones in the simulated “dig site” built integrally with the restaurant space but under an enclosed tensile-membrane roof structure along the exterior of the building.  After over a decade, the T-Rex is coming down, but PMA is happy to have been a part of this project.
